Why was I punished?
If you were banned, muted or forum banned, it means that you have violated one of the Server Rules. Punishment length varies and depends on the severity of the rule broken.

How do I appeal this punishment?
If you believe your account has wrongfully been punished, you are able to appeal it at Submit a Ban or Mute Appeal.

Please note that the appeals process varies on the reasons, as such we recommend reading our Server or Forum Rules for whatever type of punishment you may have received. There is also a guide on what the punishments mean down below, which you should read through to better understand your punishment.

Your account is your responsibility.
RealMC players are responsible for their own accounts and personal information.
Players also take full responsibility for any actions which may occur on their accounts.

If you have been banned for Suspicious Account Activity, we recommend reading our Account Security Advice.

Account Buying
We only recommend purchasing Minecraft Accounts from the official Minecraft website.

If you purchase an alternate account from a 3rd party seller/website, our ban appeal policy still applies.
These 3rd party accounts have a history with various reasons ranging from using modified clients (cheating) to Advertising/Spam; therefore, these accounts will not be unbanned due to the risk of them continuing their activities.

Account Selling
For the reasons listed above, you are not allowed to advertise selling accounts on RealMC. This policy is intended to eliminate an unnecessary risk and keep all of the players as safe and secure as possible.

Bad Names
You will be unable to appeal your Bad Username from the network. The username block only applies to your active username. When you change your username, you will automatically be allowed to re-join the network.

If you believe your username was blocked incorrectly, please reach out to RealMC Support and submit a ticket. More information about Bad Names can be found here: Blocked Usernames - Guide.

Mutes and Server Bans
There are a variety of reasons your account may have received a mute or a ban on the network. To get more information, please open the spoiler that is labeled the same as your punishment down below.

Mutes

Minor Chat Infraction

If you were muted for a Minor Chat Infraction, it means you were muted for one of the following reasons:

  • Advertising forms of social media
  • Asking for personalized tips
  • Promoting giveaways
  • Posting the same or similar messages continuously or in multiple lobbies.
  • The use of bad language
  • Bypassing the chat filter
  • Promoting the use of rule breaking to benefit yourself or others statistics
  • Misleading players which changes the outcome of their gameplay
  • Impersonating a Staff Member

Major Chat Infraction

If you have been muted for a Major Chat Infraction, it means you were muted for one of the following reasons:

  • Discussion of inappropriate topics
  • Sharing or advertising extremely inappropriate content
  • Discriminating against people about their ethnicity, race, color, beliefs, religion, gender, medical conditions or disabilities.
  • Threatening physical or mental harm
  • Talking about self-harm, or other deeply negative experiences
  • Discussion of negative worldly topics
  • Promoting or sharing the use of unfair advantages
  • Phishing for players personal information
  • Advertising or promoting the use of selling or trading accounts
  • Providing gear or items in-game for real world currency

Bans

Creation of an inappropriate build or drawing on the server

This means you created a build or drawing on the server that was deemed inappropriate due to the sexual, discriminatory, or other negative nature of said build or drawing.

Inappropriate usage of server cosmetics, items, or other content

This means you were using item customization, cosmetic items, or other content that may contain sexual or violent content, negative references to people or world events, or of another negative nature which is not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to: Player Warp names, signs, customizable weapons or items, or cosmetics. This excludes cosmetics from clients such as BadLion & Lunar.

Use of an inappropriate skin or cape on the server

This means you were wearing an inappropriate skin, cape, or aesthetic which either has inappropriate content or images, usage of inappropriate language(s), or of sexual nature.

Extreme Chat Infraction

This means you were revealing or releasing personal information about players or yourself on the network. This includes, but is not limited to: posting sensitive information, targeted harassment at either players or groups of people, or linking harmful URLs to obtain personal data.

Cheating through the use of unfair game advantages

This means you were using modifications on your client that are not allowed on the server or using exploits which gave you an unfair advantage over players on the network. You can find more about our allowed modifications at [Guide] Allowed Modifications. You may also receive this punishment if you were found to be evading certain types of bans.

Boosting your account to improve your stats

This means you were gaining statistics or gameplay mechanics on the server in an illegitimate way. This includes, but is not limited to: the use of alternate accounts, bots, or partying with rule breakers in an attempt to gain an unfair statistical advantage. You may also receive this punishment if you were found to be evading certain types of bans.

Exploiting a bug or issue within the server and using it to your advantage

This means you were using a bug or exploit on the server to gain an advantage over other players. This includes, but is not limited to: exploiting duplication methods, purposely exploiting maps, or causing issues for the server.

Your username is not allowed on the server and is breaking our rules

The bad username system allows us to mark usernames as bad server-wide and they will not be able to log into the server with the username. The players themselves are not banned, but the username will be blocked from accessing the server. Once your username is changed, you will automatically be allowed to re-join the network. More information can be found here: Blocked Username - Guide.

Forum Bans
Forum bans are issued when an account has crossed the threshold of acceptable warnings. This can either be from receiving too many warnings within a short period of time or by receiving a severe warning one time. The ban length will vary based on your accounts history as well as the severity of the offenses. For more information on your ban reason, please read through the spoiler with the same name as the warning conversation you have received on the forums.

How to Appeal an Ingame Punishment

If you believe you were falsely muted and/or banned, then you can create a punishment appeal. Please read the below information BEFORE creating a punishment appeal.

These appeals are only meant to be created for the above reason. If you are guilty you will be denied, no exceptions. If you are going to appeal your punishment, it is best to do so in a timely manner. If you have been banned or muted for too long, your appeal will most likely be denied.

IMPORTANT: Please read the above information page before completing a punishment appeal

To create an appeal, you will first need to go to realmc.net/appeals

Once you have opened the appeal form, you can follow the below screenshot to help guide you through the appeal process.

Appeals sent in any other way (e.g. private message, email, etc) will be directed back to the appeals section here with no further answer. Appeals can only be dealt with through the appeals section here on the forums.

Please also note that in many cases any proof stored internally can not be shared with you through the appeal, either due to the original reporter not giving permission for the evidence to be shared (usually in cases where they wish to protect their identity as the reporter) or in cases where proof collected by staff shows private information which was also captured inadvertently. If you request proof and the appeals team does not provide it, it is likely for this reasoning.
